We are honored that doctor Roberto Mari enthusiastically accepted our invitation and very carefully prepared his words for the conference in our Museum.
Dr. Roberto Mari showed goals and objectives he set himself during his long career and work at hospital in Rome:
- Protection of the lives of unborn children,
- Care for pregnant women particularly single women,
- Research and work on the prevention of women's cancers,
- Catholic sexuality and sexual education: gender differences with full respect and understanding for each other
- Education of couples preparing for marriage.
Those topics were presented and included in the light of the apostolic letters of John Paul II and His teaching on Catholic and family life.
Dr. Roberto Mari leads university courses and has been invited to numerous lectures. During his professional career he helped to come into the world more than 10,000 children of which he particularly remembered those children who were born at even the 25th week of pregnancy. Doctor touched the sore subject of abortion, citing figures from Italy since the legalization of abortion in 1978. According to official figures as many as 5 million lives have been lost to this day.
Our guest has met Pope John Paul II many times, he told us about the most special events, when he personally had the pleasure to speak with the Holy Father in 1981 during Pope's visit to the hospital where Mari worked, then in 1994, during a private audience at the summer residence of Castel Gandolfo and others. The person and the teaching of John Paul II were building the model and example for our guest. Dr. Roberto Mari conference attracted the interest, attention and appreciation of the crowd. His precious words will remain in our memory.
