In the evening, January 18, 2013 at the Museum of Coins and Medals of Pope John Paul II there was a meeting in the series "With John Paul II to the future" and the invited guests were: Mariusz Drapikowski with his wife Grazyna.
"I share the feelings that I have in my heart. They are associated with John Paul II. My life and creative work can be divided into two stages, one before John Paul II and the second after John Paul II "- said Mariusz Drapikowski.
The artist recalled his meetings with the Pope in Gdansk and Rome. He told his wife about the great emotions surrounding the meeting, and in particular the impact of the pope on their family and professional life.
The artist is known for its magnificent sacred works, such as, among others. "Heavenly Jerusalem" and "Star of Kazakhstan", and as one of his biggest achievements Mariusz Drapikowski claims a crucifix donated to John Paul II in 1999. Also worth mentioning is an amber dress for the Icon of Jasna Gora.
After Drapikowski's state, the museum's director Krzysztof Witkowski invited for short visiting of the museum.
Then the meeting was honored by a performance of Danuta Błażejczyk - a well known rock and jazz singer.
