New coin with John Paul II in the shape of Poland

In the presence of the Archbishop Waclaw Depo and the prior of Jasna Gora Monastery father Sebastian Matecki today Papal Mint and Museum of Coins and Medals of John Paul II in Częstochowa presented the world's largest coin with the Pope Pole.

Coin Ioannes Paulus II Maximus is the first coin in the history of the world numismatic  in the shape of Poland. It is decorated with 27 diamonds . The precious stones symbolize the years of the pontificate of John Paul II. This extraordinary masterpiece minted from silver (standard "immaculate silver"). It weighs 100 ounces, which is over 3 kg . The coin has been submitted to Guinness Book of Records as the largest in the history of numismatics coin of irregular shape .

The Papal Mint prepared only 99 pieces of this unique coin. Only 55 of them will be available in Poland , the remaining 44 are for collectors from around the world . The company presented a coin exactly 99 days before the canonization of the Polish Pope - the number of days corresponding to its edition.
