Meeting of Inter-Museum Numismatic Council

On October 24 -25 in our museum met members of Inter-Museum Numismatic Council, the guest of honor was the curator of Jasna Gora votive Collection father Jan Golonka.

The meeting was chaired by the President of the Council - Dr. Jaroslaw Bodzek from the National Museum in Krakow. The first speaker was the guest of honor father Jan Golonka. Then, the participants listened to lectures of Senior Curator of the Historical Museum of Warsaw - Thomas Bylicki entitled "Private collectors passion - an opportunity to develop collections in Poland". In addition a numismatist, archaeologist, lecturer at the Numismatic Cabinet of the National Museum in Krakow - Matthew Wozniak introduced the audience the story of the re-opening of the Museum of Hutten-Czapski in Krakow. At the end of the first day the host - Krzysztof Witkowski received from Thomas Bylicki medal by Anna Praxmayer, another copy was given to Cardinal  Stanislaw Dziwisz, and which specially created to complete the collection of the Museum of Coins and Medals of Pope John Paul II.

On the second day of the meeting members of the college visited the Jasna Gora Monastery in the company of father Jan Golonka and prior father Sebastian Matecki and then went to Czestochowa City Hall, where visitors were welcomed by director Mr Janusz Jadczyk. The guests received a medal issued by the Częstochowa Museum on the occasion of the Centennial of Exhibition of Industry and Agriculture in Czestochowa 1909-2009.

The two-day convention could not miss visiting the museum, of course, accompanied by its creator and founder director Krzysztof Witkowski.
